This weekend, The Bryant Players will be doing a performance of “Footloose!” Starting at 7pm on March 31st, April 1st at 7pm and April 2nd at 2pm! Word on the street is you should buy your ticket in advance because it is going to be a very successful show! The cast consists of 23 students that are all diverse and are so involved in the Bryant culture; however, they have all come together in creating such an awesome show.
For those of you who don’t know what Footloose is about, the story starts with a young boy named Ren and his mom leaving Chicago after their father left. They move from Chicago to move in with relatives in Bomount – a town that does not allow for any fun or dancing. There, he meets a girl named Ariel. She is the preacher’s daughter and she is a wild child. Along the way, Ren meets all of Ariel’s friends; with them, he tries to change the law of the town and allow for dancing and make Bomount a happy fun loving place to live. Through the show, there are many laughs, a few tears, and a lot of singing and dancing!
The show is directed by Liam Rice ’17 and assistant directed by Monica Cable ’19. Along with the cast, Liam and Monica have worked so hard to put this show together and have been planning for this show for over a year now! Tickets will be available starting Monday 3/27 from 10-2 in the Rotunda. When buying them in advance, it is only $3 for students , $5 for faculty and staff and $10 for adults!
