I can’t believe that it snowed this week! While that’s not what I was expecting during the first week of April, there’s plenty of spring activities going on at Bryant to look forward to. The biggest thing is the SASS Spring Arts Festival! I can’t wait for this one.
The SASS committee decided Bryant needed a way to celebrate spring as well as the arts community at Bryant and in Smithfield. On April 15th, different vendors and artists from around the area are coming to campus to join Bryant students in a day of art classes, food and fun!
One of the local artists coming to campus is Amie Plante. She designs amazing jewelry and will be teaching classes throughout the festival! Here is an example of her work:
We’ll also be hosting pottery classes and cooking classes! Students will be able to take whatever art they make with them to keep. Here’s an example of what our ceramic artist, Rebecca Buglio, makes:
In addition to classes, there will be some awesome entertainment. There will be a film festival contest, made up of short films submitted by Bryant students. Some awesome prizes are going to be given to all the participants! Also, there will be an open mic for students to show off their talents!
Of course, no festival is complete without food! SASS is providing plenty of food from different food trucks such as Split My Banana and SoulFull Fried Chicken.
The Spring Arts Festival is going to be a great way to celebrate the arts and the Bryant community. While there’s still snow on the ground now, spring is on its way and Bryant is hosting a ton of great events to welcome it!
Live in love,
