With registration slowly approaching, it’s hard to not start to panic about which classes we may or may not end up getting into. For those of us who have registered in the past, we’ve slowly learned some lessons about what to do and what not to do. For those of you who haven’t ever registered for college courses, don’t freak out! Here are some tips to make sure you have a smooth registration!
Get a good night sleep!!!!! I can’t stress this one enough. You’re going to want to wake up at 7am when registration starts, to make sure you get the classes you want, and you don’t want to over sleep! So do your homework a little early the day prior and get a good night sleep!
You are going to want to wake up before 7am. Set your alarm for 6:40am or even earlier. Just give yourself plenty of time to wake up, and get situated.
Prepare in advance! Meet with your advisor for which classes to take. Or meet with friends who may have taken these courses and or professors. Just do your research, there’s nothing worse than taking a course and not knowing anything about what to expect in the course OR what to expect with the teacher.
Have back-ups! Sometimes you may not always end up with your ideal schedule, so it’s better to prepare in advance a list of back up courses you could take. I know It seems like a pain to plan out more classes than needed, but it will save you the aggravation in the long run.
Charge your laptop the night before. There is nothing worse than waking up at 6:45am to find out your laptop is dead. And then the panic of where your charger is kicks in. Just charge your laptop!
The whole process takes approximately 2 minutes. So relax, don’t sweat it, good luck, and happy almost registration day!
